About Us!

"Nineteen Eighty-Four" is a four-piece band hailing from Sacramento, California. Drawing inspiration from George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984," their singles – "Obey," "Escape," "Realization," and "Wrongspeak" – revolve around themes of surveillance, societal control, and political manipulation. The convergence of electronic and rock genres in their music creates a unique experience, reflecting the fusion of contrasting elements much like the novel's juxtaposition of totalitarianism and individualism.

In crafting their sound, the band employs electronic elements to convey a futuristic and Orwellian atmosphere, while the rock elements provide a visceral and rebellious edge. The lyrics serve as a narrative, telling a story or exploring concepts reminiscent of the novel, offering listeners a thought-provoking and immersive experience.

The choice of the band name itself, "Nineteen Eighty-Four," signifies a deliberate homage to Orwell's work, suggesting a thematic alignment with the novel's commentary on the dangers of unchecked government power and the erosion of individual freedoms.

Kyle Pruitt

Drums

Hello, my name is Kyle! I started playing drums in 2017 and have stuck with it ever since. Music has played a major role in my life as I started playing guitar in 2009 and picked up several more instruments along the way. I also grew up playing ice hockey as a goaltender! Whenever I'm not playing music, I'll be on the ice. Follow me on social media!

Trinity Harwell

Lead Vocals - Backing Vocals

Hi everyone! I'm Trinity, but you can call me Trin. I have been singing ever since I could talk, and growing up I performed in many musical productions in my hometown Placerville, CA. I started loving rock music when I was 12 or 13 years old, and ever since then it has been my dream to sing in a band. I'm incredibly grateful for the lifelong support I've received from my family and friends as I've pursued this dream. Off stage you can find me on the ski slopes, on the river, or in my house making crafts!
